2007 Meritage - Wine Club Only

Blended using fruit from 5 neighboring local vineyards, our 2007 Meritage is rich & complex with notes of coffee, caramel, and toasted oak followed by a lengthy black plum finish. Serves perfectly with ginger-balsamic barbecued ribs or roast duck in sage-plum sauce.

Winemaker Notes
2007 was a very dry year which increased wine intensities in the Temecula Valley. The drought pushed flavors more towards jammy with dark berry/plum flavors. This Meritage blend is unusual in that it contains much more Petit Verdot than most, increasing notes of violets, cigar box, and slightly vinous overtones.
