How did you and Frank meet?
Frank and I met in High School. We both went to Helix High School in La Mesa. He was two years older than me but we had a set of mutual friends that we both hung out with. The summer after he graduated [the summer between my sophomore and junior years] we started hanging out more on our own and we officially began dating in September 2000.
How did he propose?
Frank proposed on a vacation we took to Yosemite in January 2008. We had obviously talked about getting married before, since we had been together so long, so I was just waiting for Frank to choose when he wanted to propose. We spent our week long vacation hiking, snowboarding, taking pictures of Yosemite, and relaxing. He told me later that he had carried the engagement ring with him everywhere, but the timing never felt quite right and he was nervous trying to figure out exactly what to say. He ended up proposing in our hotel room our last night there. He started off telling me how much fun he had and how much he loved me and then he just continued to lay it on thicker than ever! He spent [no joke] ten minutes telling me how great I was and how excited he was looking forward to our future together and raising a family, etc, etc. By that time I was bawling because I knew what was coming. I was sitting on the bed and he was kneeling beside the bed and then he finally pulled out the ring and asked me "Will you be my wife?" To which I obviously replied yes
What made you choose Wiens?
We absolutely loved having our wedding at Wiens! We looked into a few places in San Diego, but nothing stood out. I had considered looking into wineries but we weren't sure we could afford a winery wedding. I emailed a few wineries for pricing information, and everything was over our budget. But then you did what no one else did, you followed up with me! After you offered a few discounts, you were in our price range, so we decided to visit Wiens and check out the location. After we saw everything Wiens had to offer we were sold! The property is gorgeous! Also, you were so friendly and easy to work with, my family fell in love with you! We knew we wouldn't have anything to worry about the day of the wedding.

What made your wedding unique?
We really tried to incorporate both of our cultures in our wedding. I think we did a good job creating a traditional American wedding with Frank's Chinese heritage. We sent out invitations that were written in both English and Chinese, the ceremony was translated, and we had a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony during our reception. With the decor we used Chinese style lanterns and bamboo to create a Chinese fusion. We also had my brother perform our ceremony because it was important to us to have a more personal ceremony.

Flowers and Colors
Our colors were deep red with orange and yellow accents. We used gerber daisies for our centerpieces and the Bridesmaids bouquets. We used a few sunflowers for the head table and calla lilies for my bouquet and my maid of honor's bouquet. The girls wore black dresses with a deep red sash. The guys wore black tuxes with red paisley ties.
Dress
My dress was a Paloma Blanca and I loved it! It had a dropped waist with a full skirt, pick-ups on the skirt, and a lace bolero.
