Just Released!

2006 Tempranillo-Petite Sirah

Varietal Composition: 57% Tempranillo, 43% Petite Sirah
Original Artwork By: Sharif Carter
Regular Price: $34
Wine Club Price: $27.20
Purchase Here

Tasting Notes
Tempranillo’s plum, tobacco, leather, and herbal notes combine with the berries, spice, and muscular finish of Petite Sirah in this very interesting, complex blend. Serves well with spice-rubbed meats, tapas, olives, and prawns.

Winemaker’s Notes
Tempranillo can be a lighter wine in color and texture, but can also have some strong dark flavors at the same time, with a tendency towards characters such as licorice, tobacco, and leather. We found that blending this Spanish mainstay with a French favorite, Petite Sirah, enhances the fruit aromas and extends the finish and tannin structure, creating a more balanced, age-able wine. Aged in 100% French Oak.

2007 ‘Danza di Giove’ Sangiovese

Varietal Composition: 88% Sangiovese, 12% Petite Sirah
Original Artwork By: Shoshanah Dubiner
Regular Price: $33
Wine Club Price: $26.40
Purchase Here

Tasting Notes
The name Sangiovese stems from the Latin Sanguis Jovis, which translates to “blood of Jupiter”. Though Jupiter was the ruler of laws and social order in Roman mythology, our 2007 Sangiovese “Danza di Giove” (Dance of Jupiter) with its delightful notes of strawberry and spice, would surely make him dance!

Winemaker’s Notes
Our 2007 sangiovese has incredible red fruit aromas, but was a bit light in color and finish, so we blended 15% from our stock of ’06 Five Oaks Vineyard Petite Sirah. The final product maintains the red fruit and overall character of Sangiovese, but is enhanced by the spice, dark berry, and tannin structure of the Petite Sirah.
